Casey Derkacz

Casey Derkacz, a former soccer player at Penn State and University of Buffalo, has been named an assistant coach with the Penn State Behrend men’s and women’s soccer programs.
Derkacz joins the Lions staff after spending two academic years at Penn State before transferring to University of Buffalo in 2009. He earned his undergraduate degree in business administration with a finance concentration and will pursue his MBA while at Behrend.
While at Penn State, Derkacz started 16 out of 30 games played, was named to the Big Ten Academic All-Conference team (2008, 2009) and made Dean’s List three out of four semesters. From 2009-2011, he started all but one game for SUNY Buffalo and was named to the Mid-American All-Conference team in 2010. Derkacz continued his scholastic success, earning MAC Academic All-Conference.
He is a native of Hamburg, NY and attended Hamburg High School where he was an NSCAA/Adidas All-Western New York, All-New York State Team and All-Region Team choice. Derkacz was selected to the Olympic Development Regional Pool from 2001-2003 and invited to the National Pool tryout in 2003.
