Tom Weir Named Enterprise Rent-A-Car Athlete of the Week

Penn State Behrend junior Tom Weir (Rochester/Freedom) was named the Enterprise RENT-A-CAR Athlete of the week for the week of January 12, 2009.

The Behrend Lions returned from their winter training trip in Largo, FL on Friday night and they were right back in action on Saturday.  Weir was a strong force in the pool against the Edinboro Fighting Scots on Saturday.  The blue and white would take a close 102-118 loss.  Weir was a part of the winning 200 yard medley relay team.  He would also add a win in the 100 yard backstroke and bring in a second place finish in the 50 yard freestyle.

The Behrend Lions will be on the road for their next two meets.  They will make the trip across town to take on the Gannon Golden Knights on January 16th starting at 5:00 p.m.  They will then travel to conference foe Penn State Altoona on the 17th.  That meet will begin at 1:00 p.m.  The blue and white will be back in the Junker Center pool on January 24th as they take on Washington and Jefferson.  The meet will be televised in the Erie area on Image Sports Network.
