Penn State Behrend Claims Three AMCC POW -- January 25, 2010

The Behrend Lions claimed three AMCC Players of the Week honors.  The league office announces selections each Monday throughout the season.

Ben Strunk (Cogan Station/Williamsport) was named the men's swimmer of the week.  Strunk was a double winner against Washington & Jefferson, placing first in the 100 breaststroke (1:03.45) and 200 breaststroke (2:22.46). He was also a member of the 2nd place 200 medley relay and scored in the 200 IM.

Steve Graves (McMurray/Peters Twp.) was named men's diver of the week.  Graves increased his total degree of difficulty for both the 1m and 3m boards vs. W&J. His efforts paid off, as he scored within 4 points of a second NCAA qualifying score, with a win on the 1m.

Krystal Kovach (Scott Twp./Chartiers Valley) has also been named women's diver of the week for the blue and white.  Kovach had 4 excellent performances this weekend. Versus Chatham on Friday she smashed 2 pool records with scores of 250.55 on 1M and 249.60 on 3M. She came back on Saturday with 2 second place finishes against W&J.
