Entering his eighth season with the Behrend Lions, Coach Tristan has developed many AMCC and varsity record holders and has been an integral part of the four AMCC Team Championships the program attained.
 
Currently Coach Tristan is a certified Level 4 Coach with the American Swimming Coaches Association. He is a member of USA Swimming and coaches the local swimming program—Erie Aquatics Club—for the last three years.  In this time, he led three athletes to Senior National Qualifying Standards, one athlete to Junior National Qualifying standards and guided his swimmers to Division I, II and III swimming programs around the country.
 
From 1998-00, Tristan was the graduate assistant coach for Eastern Michigan University where he was part of the 2000 Mid-American Conference team.  While at EMU, Tristan worked mainly with the Middle Distance program and helped develop multiple Conference Champions.
