Carnegie Mellon Quad Meet Results
PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The Penn State Behrend men's track and field team competed against three other schools at the Carnegie Mellon Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
Cerminara took second in the discus throw with a distance of 44.25m. He hit 14.35m in the shot put for third place. Cerminara qualified for the outdoor ECAC meet in both events. MacMannis won the high jump with a height of 2.01m to qualify for the ECAC meet as well. MacMannis also took fifth in the triple jump with a distance of 12.23m.
Dylan Beck (Saxonburg, PA/Knoch) also participated in the triple jump. Beck took fourth in the event with a distance of 12.38m. Tyler McGrath (North East, PA/North East) had a strong outing in the discus throw along with Cerminara. McGrath placed fifth after hitting a distance of 41.23m.
In the long jump, Geoffrey Faltot (Mercer, PA/Mercer) took second place. Faltot leaped over a height of 6.61m. Dylan Bilka (Seven Fields, PA/Seneca Valley) took third in the pole vault. He cleared a height of 4.33m. Dane Laird (Linesville, PA/Linesville) placed fifth in the javelin throw with a distance of 46.48m.
Turning to the track, the Lions had a number of great performances. Denis Lydon (Plum, PA/Plum) won the 3000m run with a time of 9:03.22. Brian Lauff (McDonald, PA/Fort Cherry) took first in the 110m hurdles, crossing the line at 16.15.
After the long jump, Faltot had two top-five outings. In the 100m run, he took second with a time of 11.69 and in the 200m run, he placed fifth at 23.66. Beck competed in the 100m run as well, finishing in 12.01 for fifth overall.
Cody Bupp (Warren, PA/Warren) took third in the 400m hurdles with a time of 59.00. Billy Cvecko (Erie, PA/McDowell) rounded out the excellent day with a fifth place finish in the 400m run, crossing the line at 52.28.
Behrend will be back in action on Saturday at the Westminster Invitational. Start time is 10:00 a.m.
