Bilka Named Mideast Region Field Athlete of the Year
Dylan Bilka continues to have a tremendous sophomore year, earning the Field Athlete of the Year for the Mideast Region announced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for the 2013 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field season on Friday.

ERIE, Pa. – Dylan Bilka (Seven Fields, PA/Seneca Valley) continues to have a tremendous sophomore year, earning the Field Athlete of the Year for the Mideast Region announced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for the 2013 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field season on Friday.
Bilka, who just became a two-time ECAC Champion in the pole vault, is among the nation's top three this year with a season-best mark of 16-6 ¾ (5.05m). That mark also established a new school record and qualified him for the NCAA Championships next week in La Crosse, Wisconsin on May 23-25.
Bilka was the winner of seven competitions this season and was runner up on two other occasions. In addition to the pole vault, he was All-Conference in the triple jump.
