The Penn State Behrend men’s water polo team got revenge on Washington & Jefferson, defeating the President’s 15-9 to finish in fourth place at the Division III Eastern Championships on Sunday afternoon at Connecticut College.

Andrew Opalewski and Brian Shapter each recorded a hat trick for their first goals of the season, helping the Penn State Behrend men’s water polo team collect their second win of the season. The Lions defeated Salem 10-8, but dropped the first game of the day to Mercyhurst, 14-6.

Bernstein Named Enterprise Rent-A-Car Athlete of the Week
Jacob Bernstein (Sierra Madre/Pasadena) has been named the ENTERPRISE RENT-A-CAR Athlete of the Week for the week of October 5, 2009.
Bernstein made 35 saves over the weekend at the Claremont Invitational, including a game saving five meter penalty save during the Cal Tech game. The win against Cal Tech put the Behrend Lions into the win column for the first time this season.

2009 Penn State Behrend Men's Water Polo Preview
The Behrend Lions men’s water polo program is geared up for the start of the season. “I look forward to a strong showing this year,” said Head Coach Joe Tristan. “We return three starters and have a dynamic freshman class joining our team.” The program appears to be ready to make a run in 2009 and improve on its 5-14 mark from last season.
