Men's Water Polo Team Awards Announced
The Penn State Behrend men’s water polo program announced the team awards for the 2010 season. Chris Dunleavy was named Most Valuable Player, Andrew Opalewski was tabbed Most Improved Player, Nicholas Pabich was voted Rookie of the Year and Nicholas Loukides earned the Sportsmanship and Leadership Award.

Three Named To CWPA Scholar-Athlete Team
Three members of the Penn State Behrend men’s water polo squad were recognized on the 2010 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Scholar-Athlete Team.

Khan, Hyrne Earn All-America Honors
Sophomore Ali Khan and freshman Sam Hyrne have been named to the 2010 Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) Division III Men’s Water Polo All-American Team.

Men's Water Polo Sets School Record for Wins
Jacob Johannes scored a game-high five goals and Jake DesRoches added three to lead the Penn State Behrend men’s water polo over Salem International 13-4 to finish in ninth place at the Southern Championships this weekend.

Behrend Falls Twice at Southern Championships
Sam Hyrne scored five goals and Chris Dunleavy made 12 saves, but the Penn State Behrend Lions men’s water polo team fell to Washington & Jefferson and Gannon at the Southern Division Championships hosted by the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland.

Lions Finish Fourth at Eastern Championships
The Penn State Behrend men’s water polo team got revenge on Washington & Jefferson, defeating the President’s 15-9 to finish in fourth place at the Division III Eastern Championships on Sunday afternoon at Connecticut College.

The fifth-seeded Penn State Behrend water polo team traveled to Connecticut College to compete in the Division III Eastern Championships this weekend. The Lions fell three times on the afternoon.

Lions Drop Two at Convergence Tournament
On the final day in California, playing in the Convergence Tournament, the Penn State Behrend men’s water polo team dropped a 21-8 decision to Occidental and fell 20-1 to Cal Baptist on Saturday.

Lions Even After First Day of Convergence Tournament
Nic Pabich scored four goals and Ali Khan recorded a pair of goals to help the Behrend men’s water polol team defeat Caltech 10-7 at the Convergence Tournament in California on Friday afternoon.

Shapter Recognized by CWPA
Freshman Brian Shapter has been named the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Southern Division Defensive Player of the Week. This is the first time he has earned the honor.

Men's Water Polo Defeats Salem, Falls to Mercyhurst
Andrew Opalewski and Brian Shapter each recorded a hat trick for their first goals of the season, helping the Penn State Behrend men’s water polo team collect their second win of the season. The Lions defeated Salem 10-8, but dropped the first game of the day to Mercyhurst, 14-6.

The Penn State Behrend men’s water polo team suffered two losses on the opening day of the Bucknell Invitational on Saturday. The Lions dropped game one to the hosts, 26-3 and then fell to Queens, 19-0.

Colin McGarry Named to ACWPC All-American Team
Colin McGarry (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck) has recently been named to the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches All-American Team. Only a freshman, McGarry was selected to represent the honorable mention team as an All-American.
