Lions Compete at David Walker Invitational
BUFFALO, NY.- Penn State Behrend men’s cross country team opened up their season at Buffalo State’s David Walker Invitational Saturday morning, finishing 7th out of 10 teams.
Edinboro finished in first place with a team score of 23 followed by second place Fredonia and third place Mt. Union at 71 points and 79 points, respectively.
Behrend’s top runner of the day, Steve Monnie, placed 26th out of 128 runners and finished with a time of 27:19. Carl Kallgren timed in at 28:39 and finished 40th while freshmen Mike Smolinske placed 44th with a time of 28:50. Placing 46th was Ryan Frankowski recording a time of 28:51 who was followed by Justin DiPenti with a time of 28:54.
The Lions return to action September 18 at the annual Behrend Invitational. Meet time is scheduled for 11 a.m.
