ERIE, Pa. – After taking home the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) championship, the Penn State Behrend men's cross country team announced their 2011 team awards.

Denis Lydon (Plum, PA/Plum) was honored with the team's Most Valuable Runner award.  Lydon placed fourth at the AMCC meet to earn all-conference accolades as well.  The sophomore runner continuously led the Lions all through the season.

Taking home Rookie of the Year honors was Billy Cvecko (Erie, PA/McDowell).  Cvecko was also named the AMCC Newcomer of the Year for his strong performances, especially in the AMCC meet where he took seventh place.

The Scholarship and Leadership award went to senior Carl Kallgren (Erie, PA/McDowell).  Kallgren capped off his stellar career with an All-Conference nomination for the fourth straight year.  Kallgren also represents the college in a proud manner, working hard in the class room, on the course, and in the community.

The final award handed out on the season went to Brian Eller (Erie, PA/McDowell).  Eller was named the program's Most Improved Runner for constant improvement during his sophomore year.
