Women’s Basketball Heading to Brazil for International Sports Tour
ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women’s basketball team is set to arrive in Brazil tomorrow for an international sports tour from May 8-15. This will be the first international trip since head coach Roz Fornari and the team traveled to Italy in 2008.
The Behrend Lions trip has been coordinated by Brazilian Travel Adventures Inc., and will include two games against local Brazilian teams. In addition, the group will visit the cities of Sao Bento do Sapucia, Paraty, and Ilha Grande.
The trip provides a unique experience for the athletes and coaches. Outside of their two games, the team will go on historical tours, take various cultural classes, and put on a clinic at a school in Sao Bento do Sapucia.

The women’s basketball team is coming off a 22-6 season in which they earned their ninth ECAC bid.
