Cook Named AMCC Swimmer of the Week; Wade Earns Diver of the Week

ERIE, Pa. – Senior Julie Cook (Warren, PA/Warren) and freshman Meghan Wade (Berea, OH/Berea), both members of the Penn State Behrend women’s swimming and diving team, have been named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Women’s Swimmer and Diver of the Week, respectively.

Cook took three seconds off her best time in the 200 breaststroke to take first place in 2:42.35 in a dual meet against St. Vincent on Saturday. She also claimed second in the 100 breaststroke in another season-best time of 1:13.58.

Wade repeats as Diver of the Week for the third time this season. She won both 1m diving events for the Lions, posting a score of 172.90 for five dives and a total of 218.05 for six dives to put her five points away from an NCAA qualifying score.

The Lions return to action tomorrow against Division II Gannon. Meet time is 6 p.m.
