Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Team Awards
ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's track and field team has announced the 2012 team award winners.
Victoria Harwood (Fair Haven, NJ / Rumson-Fair Haven) was tabbed as the program's Most Valuable Player. Harwood broke the school record in the pole vault and finished the season ranked 27th in the country. Harwood also qualified for the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) meet where she finished second.
Nicole Teribery (Bradford, PA / Bradford) earned the team's Rookie of the Year award. Teribery qualified for the ECAC meet, earning all-conference honors. She ranks second in school history in the pole vault as well.
The Most Improved Player went to Katie Patterson (Erie, PA / Villa Maria). Patterson set personal records in the 10000m run, 5000m run, 3000m run, and the 1500m run. She qualified for the ECAC meet in the 10000m run and earned a spot on the all-conference team.
Rounding out the women's accolades is Katie Spade (Warren, PA / Warren) who earned the Scholarship and Leadership award. A vocal leader, Spade represented the team in a positive manner both on and off the track. She qualified for the ECAC meet in the 800m run and the 1500m run, taking second in both events. Spade also broke the school record in the 800m run.
