Bertges Named AMCC Runner of the Week; Lydon Earns AMCC and ECAC Honors

ERIE, Pa. - Sophomores Catie Bertges (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy) and Denis Lydon (Plum, PA/Plum) have been named this weeks Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Cross Country Runners of the Week.  Lydon was also recognized as the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Runner of the Week.

Bertges led the way for the Lions, guiding the team to a third place finish at the Harry F. Anderson Invitational hosted by Roberts Wesleyan College.  Individually, Bertges completed the 5K race in 19:16 for her second top five finish of the year.  Bertges earned AMCC Runner of the Week accolades last week as well.

Lydon continued to build on a successful season by finishing in eighth place over the weekend.  For Lydon, it was his third top 15 finish of the year.  His time of 27:03 helped Behrend to finish in third place.

Both the women's and men's cross country teams will be back in action on October 8th as they travel to the DeSales Invitational.
