Women’s Cross Country Ranked 10th in Preseason Poll
The Penn State Behrend women’s cross country team is ranked 10th in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) preseason regional rankings.
ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women’s cross country team is ranked 10th in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) preseason regional rankings.
The Lions are tied for 10th with Allegheny in the Mideast Region. It is the highest preseason ranking the program has ever received.
Behrend returns three all-conference performers from a year ago, including Catie Bertges (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy), Katie Patterson (Erie, PA/Villa Maria), and Haley Hughes (Cochranton, PA/Cochranton). The Lions will also have Katie Spade (Warren, PA/Warren) back from an injury-plagued sophomore season. Spade placed third at the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) championships as a freshman.
Behrend will begin their season on September 1, in Fairview, Pa. at the Mercyhurst/Gannon Invitational.
