Behrend Men's Volleyball Falls to Buffalo State in AMCC Championship Match

BUFFALO, NY – The No. 1 Buffalo State men's volleyball team defeated No. 2 Penn State Behrend 3-0 to capture the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Championship in front of a home crowd on Saturday afternoon.   

Score: No. 1 Buffalo State 3. No. 2 Penn State Behrend 0 (25-16, 25-14, 25-22)
Records: No. 2 Penn State Behrend (21-7), No. 1 Buffalo State (28-4)

Noteworthy: Senior Joseph Sciscio and sophomore Jack Wilcox were named to the AMCC All-Tournament Team

Key Moments:

* Buffalo State won its second consecutive AMCC Championship against the Lions
* The Bengals only committed five attack errors and had nine total team blocks
* Buffalo State controlled the first two sets, taking a double-digit lead in the first set at 19-9 and holding on for a 25-16 win
* The Bengals started the second set with a 10-4 lead and only allowed 10 more points by Behrend for a two-set lead with a 25-14 decision
* Behrend kept a one-point lead throughout most the third set, looking to build momentum for a comeback
* Tied at 20-all, Buffalo State won five of the next seven points for the championship
* Wilcox led with eight kills, while Cameron Schleicher added seven
* Luke Mumpower posted 21 assists and a team-best nine digs to go with two aces
* The loss is only the third straight-set defeat for Behrend this season
